CommunityHoward University Sustainable Farm is taking a step forward in completing the food-cycle in this community in Washington, D.C.
In a community of more than 10,000 thousand people - including Howard University students, faculty and Howard´s Hospital patients - we are already composting part of the community’s organic food-waste. Following this momentum, our aim is to create a Sustainable Urban Farm to produce fresh organic food for the community by using our own compost to grow the food. This project will transform Howard University into a “zero food waste” sustainable community, leading by example other communities around the country, and the world. |
